When typhoon Glenda strikes the areas of Luzon and Visayas, including the head office of CARD MRI in San Pablo, Laguna, it left the areas in clutter and the power and communication down. Almost 80% of CARD members were also badly hit in the affected areas.

The Disaster Response team of CARD MRI immediately called a meeting and set up repacking stations in San Pablo City to respond urgently to the relief goods needs of its clients in Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and nearby Quezon towns amidst being hit by the typhoon. Other relief operation centers of CARD MRI were also organized in Lucena and other parts of Quezon, Samar, Central Luzon and Marinduque and through the LCC Mall, which is CARD’s source of pre-packed goods for distribution points in Sorsogon, Legaspi, Pili, Naga, Labo and Masbate.

CARD MBA, Inc. and CaMIA, the insurance arms of CARD MRI, together with the operations staff of the CARD financial institutions in the affected areas are out to conduct validation or PAID plan and re-house for immediate payment of claims right after the typhoon subsided.

At the height of electrical and communications failure, CARD MRI also sets up immediate measures for its staff to communicate to their loved ones.

The generator power of CARD MRI was also set to prioritize the ATM operation of CARD Bank to provide continuous services to its clients. Bank operations are still on going amidst typhoon to cater the needs of clients in times like this. To date, CARD MRI remained resilient and will keep on going in responding and mobilizing its relief assistance and payment of claims immediately.
